Homebuilding might be about to change. 🦾🖥️

A company called ZURU Tech is developing software that lets people design a home digitally, almost like a video game. You can adjust layouts, move walls, change windows, and the system checks structure and building standards as you go.

Once the design is finalized, the home is built in a controlled factory environment and assembled on site.

The goal is simple: reduce construction waste, improve efficiency, and potentially lower long-term building costs.

Most homes in Charlotte are still built the traditional way. But as construction costs continue to rise, innovation like this could influence how homes are built in the future.

It’s not mainstream yet. But it’s worth watching.

Charlotte real estate in 28206 is stepping into a new chapter.

Camp North End just partnered with Jamestown, the group behind Ponce City Market and Optimist Hall. That 76-acre campus already has more than 95 businesses, and there’s still 3.2 million square feet left to build.

Now add Joinery Alley in Optimist Park, a new pedestrian-only corridor inspired by Japan’s narrow alley streets. No cars. Just small businesses, food, concerts, and community space.

This is how neighborhoods grow.

Big investment. Historic spaces turned into modern hangouts. More walkability. More energy. Then home values start to move.

If you’re paying attention to Charlotte real estate in 2026, 28206 is worth watching.
